LomoGuru of the Week: 134340

She took a walk with an analogue camera, browsed through the Lomography Community, instantly fell in love with the photos, and promised to never stop taking Lomographs — that is this week’s LomoGuru!

Her LomoHome name might be confusing for those who dislike math but I assure you that there’s nothing to dislike about this week’s LomoGuru. She’s quite new compared to our previously featured Lomographers but she sure has got enough experience to be in this feature.

Enough of the introductions because we have got to read more about this femme from Bangkok, Pung or 134340, our LomoGuru for this week.

Share to us your most memorable experience in the Lomographic Community.

Although I have joined LomoWalks with the Lomography Embassy and Gallery Store Bangkok for several times, my first LomoWalk was just like my official step to Lomography! Last year, during my Hongkong Trip, I have also joined the workshop “Discovery Hong Kong” with Lomography Gallery Store Sheung Wan. It was a very special LomoWalk with around 30 HK Lomographers — such a big group! (Special thanks to a lovely soundfoodaround, one of HK’s Lomo staff, for helping me translate words in English so I could understand what was said!) Besides, I have also had opportunities to do film swaps including doubles, triples, quadruples, and splitz projects with my beloved LomoFriends, both from Thai and even the international Community!

Being a part of this Lomographic Community means the world to me. Furthermore, I’m very honoured for receiving some awards, knowing great Lomographers from all over the world, and being able to see many brilliant shots though this site. This Community is my new world so I won’t stop making new memorable experience for sure. It has only been three years and it’s just the beginning. :)

Have you actually met people in the Community that you now consider as close friends? If yes, name at least one of them.

Luckily, I live in Bangkok which means I have a good chance of participating in Lomographic activities plus meeting some Thai Lomographers like dakadev_pui, i_am_four-eyes, inine, sadurtay, heart2heart to name a few. I do really admire all of them!

A very special mention and a big hug plus “thank you” to ohoska, jazzamania, and wapclub for all the techniques I have learnt from you my friends and favourite LomoGurus! My doubles partners and LomoFriends, I wish someday we can meet-up and share our experience of LomoLife together (maybe just sitting, talking nonsense,or just staring at the sky!)

Do you think you’ll still be taking Lomographs in the next 5 years? Why?

Well, three years isn’t enough for the coolest world named Lomography. I guess I’ll still be taking Lomographs, counting piggies, and being all excited with new cameras in the next five years! An addicted Lomographer called 134340 is shooting with her sweet weapons somewhere.

What is your favorite Lomo camera and why? Do you have any memorable experiences while using this camera?

My most favorite Lomo camera is the lovely LC-A+. I love it and want to use it in every moment of my life. However my LC-A+ used to haunt me about one of my albums: I used the LC-A+ once while it was loaded with EBX but the photos were too overexposed. At first, I didn’t want to upload the photos in my LomoHome but I changed my mind and let them go. After being published, the album got a lot of likes and good comments. It would be my most funny roll because one of the photos became most popular photo in December 2001. I’m still surprised about those feedbacks.

Please share your most favourite Lomographic photo that you took and explain why.

This shot reminds me how clumsy I was. I accidentally dropped my Sprocket Rocket on the floor while I was walking in Melaka, Malaysia. I was so shocked and nervous when the back cover fell open. My head spun and mouth repeated “Oh, shit happens!” When I processed this roll, there were some ruined shots but the rest of the photos in the roll were still amazing.

Is there any advice you can give to new analogue shooters?

Save money, shoot, challenge yourself with new experiments or projects, and don’t worry if your shots are weird because we love them!
