Film and instant Lomographer Annalisa Gaeta a.k.a. annalisa-gaeta87 is a connoisseur with all things related to instant photography, and she has a particular fondness for the Instax Mini format. Annalisa got into instant film photography five years ago when she tried a Polaroid camera. After some testing, she got into the Instax Mini format, then also explored the Instax Square and Instax Wide formats. However, the Mini stuck with her more. Eventually, she bought the Lomo’Instant Automat South Beach to suit her needs. The Lomo’Instant Automat opens more opportunities for experimentation with its versatile shooting modes, multiple exposure capabilities, and variety of lenses. Its automatic shutter, electronic flash, and remote control make it easily one of the handiest instant cameras to use.
“I bought the Lomo'Instant Automat South Beach just to make the most of the Instax Mini. I had seen many with various colors and I chose this one also for the material, beautiful to the touch. I find it a very good camera. I really like the aesthetics, but also on a practical level, I find it perfect. You can change many settings for lights and flash, distances, double exposures. I also like the lens cap that works as a button for selfies. brilliant!”
Annalisa would often take portraits of others and herself. She’d refer to her idea notebook, and experiment with lighting. “For example, the Instax Mini makes red really spectacular,” she notes. Annalisa would draw inspiration from anything and anywhere, be it from scenes from the streets, social media, to songs.
Her creative life was slowed down lately due to the pandemic, but Annalisa’s hoping for more get back into photography and put her work out for the world to see and appreciate.
“I hope that in the future there will be some photographic exhibitions where I can exhibit my photos and a new bigger house where I can create a small photo studio!”
