The New York and New Jersey-based photographer is back with us today to give her first impressions on the new LomoChrome Color '92 ISO 400 (35 mm) film.
Hi Joan, can you firstly tell us about the concept for this shoot?
The concept of this shoot was just to showcase an urban lifestyle; fun, fashionable, and minimal. Those are the themes I think about when it comes to Lomography.
How would you describe the look of the LomoChrome Color '92 ISO 400 (35 mm) film ?
The film stock seems very grainy but has vibrant colors.
Do you have a favorite photo taken with this film?
My favorite photos are the self portrait with the red gloves because it has an ominous feeling to it, and the one with the bike because it looks just like a travel postcard.
What do you like most about this film?
What I liked most is how the grain gave more of a nostalgic feeling to it.
How do you feel about a new color negative film being on the market?
I always support new film stocks that come out, giving hope for the industry to continue.
What do you think is the perfect situation for shooting this film?
I think shooting this film stock during twilight hour or with a flash would be perfect.
Which camera did you use with this film?
I used my Canon EOS 1V.
What are your hopes for the future of film photography?
That film, film developing, and cameras will be cheaper.
Anything else that you'd like to share about the film?
If you don’t like grain, this isn’t the film for you.
